The Baltic States have called on Walmart not to sell items with Soviet symbols

The three Baltic countries urged the retail giant Walmart not to sell in your online store clothing and other products with the symbols of the Soviet Union.

Recall that until 1991, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania were part of the Soviet Union. Of these, the most rigid policy towards the Communist past holds Lithuania. In this country are legally forbidden all Soviet symbols, as well as a Nazi.

«Under these characters committed terrible crimes, — said the Lithuanian Ambassador in the United States Rolandas Krisciunas. — When the Soviet Union occupied Lithuania, thousands of our citizens were killed, expelled, tortured, raped, separated from their families.»

The Ambassador noted that the actions of Walmart did not intend to offend anyone, but «t-shirts and other products with the symbols of the Soviet Union, commit mass murder, should be immediately removed».

A letter to Walmart also sent a group of lawmakers from Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. The reaction of the company with headquarters in Arkansas are not yet known.

We will remind, in may the German sports goods manufacturer Adidas has agreed to remove from sale in its online store a t-shirt with the letters «USSR» and the emblem of the Soviet Union. This product is sold in anticipation of the world Cup held this summer in Russia.

By the way, in July, Walmart started selling clothes with a call to impeach trump.
