September 12 right-wing news site Breitbart published a video with weekly meetings at Google, held after the victory of Donald trump in the presidential elections of 2016. This event is also known as TGIF (Thank God It’s Friday).
The time of publication, no accident
The video was shot almost 2 years after TGIF — just in the Wake of another scandal of censorship leading social networks. Conservatives argue that the technological giants of Silicon valley, the support of the liberals limit the traffic of conservative media and public figures, thus the impact on voters and legislators.
- In August, trump said that Google has manipulated Internet services, not wanting to display information about its activities.
- Last week the U.S. Department of justice discussed the possible political bias of some social media against conservative politicians.
- Supporters of Donald trump have repeatedly accused the leadership of Google of meddling in the electoral process.
What Google says
The company noted that its employees have every right to Express their opinion and share it with others. It does not prevent to produce a quality product that is outside the political situation and aimed at meeting the needs of the Internet users. Google also stressed that nowhere in the video does not discuss the use of the company’s products to influence the outcome of the election or any campaign.

At the beginning of the meeting, the co-founder of Google said that he understands the frustration and disappointment that engulfed the majority of those present. According to Brin, it is immigrants who «deeply offended» the results of the last election.

Explaining the motives of the supporters of trump, Walker came to the conclusion that «fear, not only in the United States, but all over the world fuelled such things as xenophobia and hatred.»
