Today (6 October), the U.S. Senate endorsed the appointment of Brett Cavanaugh, the President of which is Donald trump was nominated for the post of member of the Supreme court.
Despite the outbreak of a sex scandal, a majority of senators — 50 48 — approved the candidacy Cavanaugh.
The minority leader in the upper house of Parliament Chuck Schumer called the nomination Cavanaugh «one of the saddest moments in the history of the Senate» and said, «This Chapter will turn red warning signal about what should be avoided».
Many protesters chanting «the Whole world is watching!», gathered near the Capitol building before today’s final vote to oppose nazvachenyya Cavanaugh.
Shortly before the vote, trump said Cavanaugh «will be a great Supreme court justice».
«He’s just an extraordinary person… And I think we will all be proud of», — said the American leader.
