Utah recognized the Holodomor in 1930-ies as genocide of Ukrainians and appointed a Day of remembrance

Another state that the Holodomor 1932-1933-x years recognized the genocide of the Ukrainian people became Utah. This was announced on his official page in Facebook Embassy of Ukraine in the United States.

On 10 October in salt lake city, the capital of Utah, state Governor Gary Herbert in the presence of the Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Valeriy Chaly and honorary Consul of Ukraine in Utah by Jonathan Friedman signed the Declaration of memory of victims of Holodomor — genocide 1932-1933 years in Ukraine.

In addition, 24 Nov 2018 in Utah declared the Day of memory of the Ukrainian Holodomor.

Ambassador Valeriy Chaly expressed gratitude to the Governor, noting that he would report the important news to the leadership of the Ukrainian state and the Ukrainian Diaspora in the state.

During the meeting special attention Valeriy Chaly and Gary Herbert was paid to the question of increasing trade and economic cooperation. Ambassador of Ukraine noted that in 2017 the export of Ukrainian production in Utah has increased 17-fold, but the potential for further growth is far from exhausted.
