The Ministry of justice filed the first criminal case over the alleged intervention of Russia in the coming November elections 2018.

Allegations of conspiracy to commit fraud brought 44-year-old Elena Husanboy from St. Petersburg — to the chief accountant «of the project of Lakhta». This organization is financed a businessman Yevgeny Prigozhin and-controlled company (Concord Management and Consulting, and Concord Catering), included in the investigation of the special Prosecutor Mueller to RF interference in the presidential elections of 2016.

The woman is accused of participation in the scheme, which from the beginning of the year, spent $10 million on advertising in social networks, designed to divide American society. According to prosecutors, Husanova manages the finances «of the project of Lakhta» — the company created for disinformation and incitement of discontent in the United States. According to court documents, Lakhta raised the most contentious questions of immigration, confederates, gun control and national symbols of the United States. The duties of Husanboy included the control of advertising costs, domain name registration, acquisition, proxy servers and promotion of publications in social networks.

In the period 2016-2018 estimated budget «of the project of Lakhta» amounted to more than $35 million, although, as stressed by the prosecution, only a portion of this amount was spent on the company’s operations in the United States.

The case will be considered by Federal prosecutors in Alexandria (Virginia).
