Trump does not believe in the involvement of a Saudi Prince for the murder of journalist Khashoggi

Donald trump said he did not believe that the crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Mohammed Ibn Salman was involved in the murder of opposition journalist Jamal Khashoggi (Khashoggi).

On Friday, October 19, Saudi Arabia admitted that the journalist who had criticized in their submissions to the Washington Post, the leadership of Arab States and the United States, died during a fight in the Istanbul Consulate from suffocation. Yesterday, 20 October, in an interview with the Washington Post Donald trump said that he refused to believe that Mohammed Ibn Salman is related to the murder of a journalist.

«No one told me that he is responsible for it, — said the President of the United States. — No one told me that he is not responsible. [But] I would not like to he was responsible.»

The last time Jamal Khashoggi seen on October 2, when he went to the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul. Initially, the leadership of Saudi Arabia claimed that he did not know what happened to an opposition journalist. In an interview, trump said that «obviously» the authorities were lying and that he is waiting for additional information about the incident.

Death Khashoggi would have «severe» consequences for Saudi Arabia, said trump, but at the same time stressed the importance of economic relations between the two countries.

The American leader did not want to «touch» the agreement on supply of weapons to Saudi Arabia, saying only that it will hurt the American economy.
