For the first time in history during the broadcast of the Macy’s parade kissed by two girls

Many LGBT representatives, their defenders and other citizens of the USA called same-sex couples kiss during a live NBC broadcast of the Macy’s parade on thanksgiving Day a historic moment.

Yesterday, November 22, at the event, which is watched by millions of people across the country were made by artists from the new Broadway musical «the Prom» (The Prom). From the very beginning of views of the actress Caitlin Kinnunen and Isabel Maccalla were holding hands, and at the end during the General dance of all the corpses they merged in a kiss.

The musical «the Prom», which premiered this month, tells the story of a gay American in the village, which was not permitted to take his girlfriend to prom. When several famous actors from new York will know about the incident, they travel to Indiana to support the couple.

Viewers expressed their mixed reaction on Twitter someone wrote happy posts, and someone thought that this doesn’t belong on national TV.

«Two girls. Just kissed. Live. On the Macy’s parade on thanksgiving. I suddenly began to cry. That’s fine,» — wrote a user under the name Tina Landau.

Two girls. Just kissed. On live TV. On the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. I suddenly cried. Lovely. Thanks given to @ThePromMusical. (& Macy’s/NBC.) & lesbians everywhere. & turkeys. For their sacrifice. But esp. @ThePromMusical.

«I finally live in a world where national television is not ashamed to show it at the event, which is so widely publicized,» he wrote on Twitter the girl with the name Leesah, attaching to post a picture of kissing girls.

The #macysthanksgivingdayparade just showed two girls kissing during Broadway performance showcase of The Prom.

You know — I’m thankful for #20gayteen. I finally live in a world where national TV isn’t ashamed to show this on a wildly broadcasted event. #representationmatters pic.twitter.com/t6oI2a8nzN

«It’s incredible why these networks feel the need to demonstrate their podderjku the gay community. It’s not something children should see,» — said adventuresofbobbleheadtrump.

So watching the @Macys Thanksgiving Day Parade with the fam and they just had 2 girls kiss at the end of one of the dance/singing acts. #Unbelievable why do these networks feel the need to make sure they show their support for the gay community. Not something kids need to see.

Conservative group ForAmerica has also been outraged by a kiss during the parade. She stated that same-sex kiss broadcast live, violated innocence «of millions of little children», but faced a backlash on Twitter.

Millions of small children just watched two girls kiss and had their innocence broken this morning. @nbc and @Macys just blindsided parents who expected this to be a family program, so they could push their agenda on little kids. #macysthanksgivingdayparade #MacysDayParade pic.twitter.com/EmCLSfNmAj

Many users did not agree with ForAmerica, noting that «love is love», it is not connected with politics.

love isn’t a political agenda. love is love

«This is a family program. Not all families look the same. Well, that all the children see it,» wrote one of the spectators.

Others have argued that it is more likely that the innocence of American children have been violated as a result of the epidemic of gun violence and mass shootings.

Rusa LGBT co-Director and founder of Brighton-beach-Pride Alexey Gorshkov also shared with USA.one of my thoughts:

«I think this event is certainly important, because it demonstrates one example of the destruction of the conspiracy of silence regarding LGBTIQ. Moreover, given the specificity of the festival/parade (after all, it’s not gay pride), which is traditionally considered the family, appearance in the sight of same-sex couples makes clear that families are different. And that LGBTIQ people are no different from others — they have their own family and its values. Sadly, gone for so many years that the society has been able to understand the simple truth. Although we are still far from serinate».
