Putin: we Have no intention to move away from the dollar – the dollar away from us

Today, 28 November, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia has no choice but to reduce dependence on the dollar on the world market.

According to AFP, the United States adopted sanctions that complicate the use of currency for some countries.

The Russian leader noted that the instability of the dollar payments is pushing many States to search for alternatives and the establishment of payment systems that are independent of the dollar.

Russian authorities have long declared «de-dollarization» of its international trade. However, progress on this front has been slow. Oil is the main product of the Russian export is priced in dollars.

However, the majority of Russian trade with the countries of the former USSR takes place in rubles. At the forum, Putin also said that Russia recently sold its missile batteries class S-400 to Turkey without using us currency.

Not so long ago, Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov said that India also will pay for S-400 rubles.
