Most Americans are not going to support trump in the presidential elections in 2020

More than half of registered voters said that don’t want Donald trump was elected President of the United States in 2020.

According to a survey by PBS NewsHour/NPR/Marist Institute, 57% of respondents firmly stated that they do not want in the future to see trump’s head of state. Among Republicans, this opinion 10% among Democrats — 91%. Not ready to vote for trump and 62% of voters consider themselves to belong to one of the parties.

To vote for trump are about 30% of voters. Not undecided 13%.

With regard to the closure of the government, which continues for 27th day and has affected 25% of Federal employees, 54% of respondents blamed what is happening as the President, but 31% believe that the blame all on the Democrats of Congress.

57% of respondents wanted the President to cooperate more with the representatives of the democratic forces. At the same time, 55% think it’s just Democrats are not working with trump.

Americans generally agree that both sides should make more efforts to reach a compromise and end the shutdown.

«What we see in each of these questions is the feeling that a compromise is needed and the parties should meet each other,» says Lee Miringoff, Director of the Marist Institute for Public Opinion.

The survey PBS NewsHour/NPR/Marist Institute was held from 10 to 13 January. It took part 1 023 Americans, including 873 registered voter.

Recall that the current shutdown was the longest in U.S. history. It has affected almost 800 thousand civil servants. Some of them were sent to unpaid leave, and more than half — to 420 million — are required to work without pay.
