Trump has postponed the appeal of the «state of the Union»

President Donald trump on Wednesday evening, 23 January, announced that it will appeal «On the situation of the country» («State of the Union address») until shutdown. We will remind, already the fifth week of the partial government closure.

On the transfer of the speech to Congress, Donald trump wrote in his Twitter.

«When the shutdown began, Nancy Pelosi asked me to speak. I agreed. Then she changed her mind due to the closure of the government, proposing a later date. It’s her prerogative — I will make a message when the shutdown. Look forward to the opportunity to speak with a message to Congress in the near future,» reads the tweet trump.

The treatment is «state of the Union» is the annual message of the President of the United States Congress in which he sets out his assessment of the situation in the country and describes the forthcoming legislative initiatives.

The President is not allowed to appear in the courtroom, unless the House of representatives and the Senate will not accept a resolution allowing him to do it.

Nancy Pelosi said Trump, urging him to support efforts to end the shutdown.

«Mr. President, I hope that by saying «near future» you mean that support adopted by the House of representatives package #EndTheShutdown, which the Senate will vote tomorrow,» wrote Pelosi. Please accept this offer so we can re-open the government, pay our Federal employees and then only to discuss our differences.»

Thursday, January 24, the Senate must vote two competing bill aimed at opening the Federal government. One bill includes funding for the border wall, the other excludes.

The government was partially closed from 22 December 2018 because of a dispute over the allocation of $5.7 billion to Finance the construction of a wall along the U.S. border and Mexico.
