«New Mexico will not participate in the presidential race over the wall. The forces of our National guard because of this abuse,» said Democrat Michelle Lujan Grisham.
About a dozen guards remain in the southwestern part of new Mexico. In addition, the Governor mobilized the state police to assist local law enforcement.
«I understand the concerns of the residents and officials of South-West new Mexico, in particular the County of Hidalgo, seeking help, as migrants continue to appear at them «»on the edge»,» said Lujan Grisham.
The Governor has also ordered to withdraw from the border 25 the military from other States (Arkansas, Kansas, Kentucky, new Hampshire, South Carolina and Wisconsin).
Meanwhile, unlike the national guard of the state, the presence of Federal troops at the southern border will only increase.
On Sunday, 3 February, the Pentagon announced that it will be sent to the border of USA and Mexico 3 750 soldiers to stretch along the border, barbed wire and support customs and border services. Thus, the total number of military on the southern border will increase to 4 350.
