Former attorney General Matthew Whitaker Monday does not appear in the Ministry of justice

Former acting U.S. attorney Matthew Whitaker worked on Saturday last working day in the Ministry of justice, quietly gathered his things and left, not even leaving a comment on Twitter.

In February, the attorney General was approved by William Barr, and the duties of Whitaker on this end. For this post he came after Donald trump dismissed the General Prosecutor Jeff Session because of his position in relation to the investigation Robert Mueller about Moscow’s intervention in election 2016. Whitaker has caused harsh criticism of the Democrats that in their view, did not support the investigation. At a recent hearing in Congress, he barely answered their questions on the investigation, but denied that trump told him this investigation to slow down.

Whitaker leaves behind not just hot but really hot seat. He refused to remove himself (the attorney General) powers of supervision over the investigation of Muller. Now William Barr have or control, or to absolve themselves of these powers — both makes the attorney General the target of political attacks.

For the Whitaker this story is also not over. Unsatisfied with his testimony at the hearing in February, the U.S. Congress has asked him to come to new trial, not as attorney General. About other future plans of the former acting attorney General is not misleading nor Whitaker, nor the press service of the Ministry of justice. With the Democrats he doesn’t exactly have a relationship, but it is difficult to say whether a positive opinion of him remained in the White house and offer him some good options for a career.

Whitaker came to Washington from Iowa, where he was a Federal Prosecutor. In the capital he worked on the staff at the Session, which succeeded in the end in place of the attorney General.
