Trump hopes that the Jews will soon go from Democrats to Republicans

Donald trump this week turned to a Jewish theme, wrote on Twitter that «the Jewish people are leaving the Democratic party», referring to the television appearance Elizabeth Pipko from the group Jexodus. He further recalled that he moved the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem and is actively fighting against the Iranian threat. Trump also invited disenchanted with the democratic party to move to the Republicans.

“Jewish people are leaving the Democratic Party. We saw a lot of anti Israel policies start under the Obama Administration, and it got worsts & worse. There is anti-Semitism in the Democratic Party. They don’t care about Israel or the Jewish people.” Elizabeth Pipko, Jexodus.

«We’ve seen a lot of anti-Israeli policy, initiated under the Obama administration, but the situation worsens. In the Democratic party is anti-Semitism. They don’t care about Israel or the Jewish people. Elizabeth Pipko from Jexodus Republicans are waiting with open arms,» wrote trump.

The ‘Jexodus’ movement encourages Jewish people to leave the Democrat Party. Total disrespect! Republicans are waiting with open arms. Remember Jerusalem (U. S. Embassy) and the horrible Iran Nuclear Deal! @OANN @foxandfriends

Take the Jews from the Democrats, really?

Of course, in the United States there are millions of Jews, some of them sometimes change the party. But the mass Exodus of Jews from the Democratic party are not observed. According to surveys, in the period between 2016 and 2018, the support of Jewish Democrats has increased from 71% to 79%. A new report by Gallup based on interviews with over 2018, States that «every sixth Jew in the United States identificeret themselves as Republican, and about half called themselves Democrats».

Looks like the Jews are as loyal to the Democratic party, «after Obama», as in the era of «before Obama». Of course, there is a strong link the Republican party with the ruling Israeli Likud party. But the Democrats are still perceived as historically Pro-Israel party. Today the disagreements within the democratic camp on this issue are at the level of the debate, not decisions. In addition, the attitude of the Jews of the United States to political power in Israel is different, not all of them support Likud. And most importantly, to vote in elections American Jews are not always guided by the attitudes of candidates towards Israel, and still more oriented to the political arguments.

«Jexodus is a Republican fantasy that will fail,» — said in an interview with USA Today Khali Soifer, Executive Director of the Jewish democratic Council of America, which, like many others, offended by the statement trump.

What is Jexodus?

«Jexodus is a new platform for Americans that believe in protecting their Jewish identity, and that our connection to Judaism makes us better Americans. This movement is for those who understand the importance of supporting the Jewish state and people of Israel,» — says the site of this structure.

Their main message is directed to Jewish youth and young against the waves of democracy: «We are proud to be Jewish Millennials are tired of living in slavery of left-wing politics. We reject the hypocrisy, anti-Americanism and anti-Semitism rising of the extreme left. Progressives, Democrats, and too many Jewish organizations old-school take our support for granted.»

Their leader — the model is Elizabeth Pipko says that it is «an authentic mass movement, initiated by young Millennials who are just trying to reach out to young Jews across the country and involve them in what happens in politics.»

The term «Jexodus», apparently, is an attempt to beat the «Blexit». So Candace Owens , which encourages African Americans to break with the Democratic party, used the word «Plexit». A hint of Britain and on the outcome of the days of Moses, someone thought it funny but someone stupid and even hurtful.

Support the Jewish communities of the democratic party has too long history, from the time of close political relations of Woodrow Wilson with Louis Brandeises. These relationships have endured, and the more acute differences, when 20 years had a heated argument about the Ku Klux Klan.

Of course, trump as a politician, has the full right to use ongoing in democratic circles, the controversy caused by the Ilhan Omar, to try to lure supporters. But it is unlikely he will still be able by such methods to split the Union of Jews and Democrats. Although over the past 25 years, the proportion of Jews who joined the Republican party, has risen from 25% to 31%. The poll Pew Research Center on «trends in party affiliation». Perhaps Jewish youth, will be the weak link in the historical chain of support of the democratic party, and eventually this support will be in jeopardy.
