Democratic Senator Dianne Feinstein of California, a member of the Judiciary Committee and intelligence Committee, speaking before the Senate said that «a four-page summary cannot cover what is revealed is a thorough investigation. I find it so disappointing that a rush to judgment, not being able to see the full report or all the fundamental facts,» and proposed to adopt a resolution directing the publication of the Report of Muller.

McConnell objected and offered to accept only a non-binding resolution, noting that attorney General William Barr is currently working with the Report and will determine that the report should or should not be published. Earlier, a proposal of such a resolution was made by the leader of the Democrats in the Senate Chuck Schumer, but his initiative was blocked by McConnell.

Senator Rand Paul endorsed McConnell, saying that he was also against of the resolution: «My plan is to oppose the publication of the report of Muller or all of the information from Muller until they release the full information from the White house, the DOJ and the FBI.»
