Congresswoman Ilhan Omar accused trump of lying and called a wall on the border of Mexico and the USA «monument to racism»

Congresswoman Democrat Ilhan Omar criticized Donald trump for what he declared a «fake emergency» to build its long-promised border wall between the U.S. and Mexico, which she called «a monument to racism».

On Wednesday (April 3) morning, trump reiterated his threat to close the southern border because of that «tipping point» in the immigration system of the country. Last week, border-U.S. customs (CBP) reported that more than 4,000 people daily cross the border without permission, which is one of the highest rates in the last 15 years.

«Congress needs to come together and immediately to eliminate the loopholes for the border! If there is no action, border or large parts of the border will be closed. This is a national emergency!», — wrote the President on Twitter.

A member of the house of representatives Ilhan Omar quickly responded to the attack on the President.

«It’s a fake emergency! Donald trump is lying about the border to build a monument to racism,» wrote Omar in response to a tweet.

Previously, Omar has called the treatment of migrants «disgusting and inhumane» after there were photos of hundreds of men, women and children at a checkpoint in El Paso (TX).

«This is, without doubt, a reflection of what white nationalism is doing to our country, wrote Omar in his microblog. — As a state, we must admit that it is so regarded here people, and make the decision that we’re better than this, and we must do better.»

According to several sources, trump plans to appoint a special immigration adviser to monitor the implementation of its immigration programs.

In addition to the threat to close the border trump also warned that he would stop foreign aid to Central American countries like Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador if they did not stop the flow of migrants. Experts warn that both can have negative economic consequences and would exacerbate the immigration crisis.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi called the proposal to limit the assistance to one of the «worst ideas» of the President.
