Ocasio-Cortez, responded to the accusations in the language games with African-Americans

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez spoke Friday at a conference of the movement of national action network National Action Network at the Sheraton hotel in new York. 29-year-old left Democrat from the Bronx, being among the «working class,» reminisced about his job as a bartender and spoke to the workers:

«There is nothing wrong with working in retail, folding clothes for other people… There is nothing wrong in cooking that will have your neighbors. There is nothing wrong to drive buses that carry people to work. There is nothing wrong with being a working person in the United States of America, and this is all that is worthy».

Her performance was enthusiastically received by the audience, but provoked a storm of criticism in social networks. Ocasio-Cortez was accused that she intentionally changed the language, adding a southern accent to be closer to African-Americans, who were in the majority. «If you are interested — here is the sound of blackface,» writes John Cardillo.

Washington Examiner supported the outrage, angry tweets summarizing, comparing her speech at the Convention with other statements, said that she was clearly dragging the vowels longer than usual. It was concluded that in this way she wants to enlist the support of African American organizations and human rights movements.

As much As the right wants to distort & deflect, I am from the Bronx. I act & talk like it, *especially* when I’m fired up and especially when I’m home.

It is so hurtful to see how every aspect of my life is weaponized against me, yet somehow asserted as false at the same time.

Ocasio-Cortez, immediately and repeatedly responded on Twitter: «People talking about my voice, can «go». Any child who grew up in the special language, culture and had to learn to navigate the school environment, knows what it is… I’m from the Bronx. I behave and speak, especially when not at work, and especially when I’m at home.» Then expressed regret, «it hurts to see every aspect of my life armed against me.»
