Ocasio-Cortez proposed to revise relations between the US and Israel

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez finds it necessary to discuss the possibility of reducing military and economic aid to the state of Israel. «I think it’s something worth discussing,» she said, adding that the idea «must be on the agenda.»

Congresswoman from the Bronx told about his attitude to the us-Israeli relations in the news on Yahoo Skullduggery this Sunday. Ocasio-Cortez called Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a «figure like trump» after it announced its plans to officially Annex Jewish settlements on the West Bank of the Jordan river. «I think we really are seeing the rise of authoritarianism throughout the world,» — said the politician.

Netanyahu, re-elected last week, has announced plans to officially join the Jewish settlements on the West Bank of the Jordan river — part of the territory taken over by Israel during the six day war in 1967 where the Palestinians hope to create their own state. Ocasio-Cortez said that the «annexation must affect US policy toward Israel, and in our meetings there are such «conversations»».

29-year-old Congresswoman said she does not determine foreign policy in Congress, but she’s not the only one who wants to review relations with Israel.

We are pleased @AOC recognizes she is NOT a leader on Israel in Congress. We recommend she engage with Dem leaders @RepEliotEngel, @NitaLowey, & @TedDeutch before contemplating the future of US military aid to Israel. US-Israel ties must supersede politics.https://t.co/AX6BpqKiXg

Monday Jewish democratic Council of America issued a statement about statements Ocasio-Cortez:

«We are pleased that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez admits that it does NOT determine policy toward Israel in Congress… We recommend it to interact with the leaders of the Democratic party — Eliot Engel, Nita Lowey and Ted Deutsch, before you think about the future of US military aid to Israel. The relationship between the US and Israel should supplant politics.»
