Rashid Tlaib remembers 9/11. Very afraid for her husband, a Palestinian who had a green card

The democratic Congressman from Michigan Tlaib Rashid said that after September 11, she «was afraid» of Americans and that her fear led her to enter politics.

Tlaib, a native of Palestine, also said that he was afraid then for my husband because he during the terrorist attack, which killed nearly 3,000 people, was only a green card. She said it in the video, filmed for the Makers, in the framework of the media company, which is trying «to strengthen the women’s movement, by telling stories from real life that spark passion and action.»

«I was really terrified of what could happen to my husband, who at the time was only a holder of a green card. I immediately called my brothers and told them that they were very careful in communicating with friends, and was careful, when dealing with fellow Americans.»

She explained that the attack and fear pushed her to public service and forced to get involved in the Affairs of the society: «It’s really pushed me to become more involved, and I became very curious and very angry. And I think that this combination gave me a solution of many problems in the city of Detroit.»
