The NY Times has apologized for anti-Semitic material, which was released last week

The NY Times was forced twice to apologize for publishing pictures of the Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu-in the form of a dog on a leash being held by a blind President Donald trump. Caricature, as critics say, contained anti-Semitic tropes. Its publication coincided with the Passover holiday, a tragic incident in the synagogue in San Diego and sharp polemics on the Jewish question in the Democratic party of the USA, which not the first month.

The more I think about the @nytimes “cartoon,” the more appalled I am.

While #Antisemitism is rising…synagogues are attacked & killed…democratic Jews #Israel is demonized…& Jewish institutions are forced to bolster security…

The “paper of record” pours oil on the fire.

In the first statement following the next day after the publication, the editors expressed regret, called this material unacceptable, and said that he deleted from the Internet-resources publications.

The head of the American Jewish Committee AJC, David Harris, rejected the apology follows:

«No,» apology» is not the right answer. Rather, the NYT needs readers to explain how it happened — in the end, the decision to print this was made not by one person — and that refers to the opinion of the newspaper on Israel and the Jews… while anti-Semitism is growing … synagogues are attacked and Jews killed … democratic Israel was demonized … and Jewish institutions have to strengthen the security … Publication adds fuel to the fire.»

«How many editors of the New York Times would look at a caricature, which would have looked out of place on a white web site supporters of superiority, and would decide whether it meets the editorial standards of the newspaper? What does that say about your processes or decision-makers? How do you fix it?» the statement of the American Jewish Committee.

The growing wave of criticism from many sides, and the NYT was forced to apologize again, speaking with a new, more extensive application. The document States that the figure was provided by the news service and syndicate the New York Times, which has since removed it, the decision to publish was made by a single editor working without proper oversight. «The issue is still pending, and we overestimate our internal processes and training… We expect significant changes,» — said in a statement.

One of the editors of the NYT, Bret Stephens, in his article published in this edition says that journalists critical of the political course of Israel, Netanyahu and personally to Trump, but made the mistake of allowing himself to prevent anti-Semitic notes: «Sharp criticism of Israel and Zionism, including in this article … has become so pervasive that people were deprived of sensitivity to the inherent fanaticism».

CNN interviewed the staff of the NYT in the United States, saying that he did not know about the publication in international journals until I read about her in the editor’s note on Saturday. They were alarmed, and publication, and the fact that the initial apology of the editorial Board was so weak.

The New York Times has apologized for the terrible Anti-Semitic Cartoon, but they haven’t apologized to me for this or all of the Fake and Corrupt news they print on a daily basis. They have reached the lowest level of “journalism,” and certainly a low point in @nytimes history!

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) April 29, 2019

It is not known whether satisfied with the new statement of editorial criticism, but we know that is not satisfied with Donald trump: «the NY Times apologized for the terrible anti-Semitic figure, but they never apologized to me for it or for all fake and the fake news which they print on a daily basis. They reached the lowest level of journalism and, of course, the bottom point in the history of the NYT».
