Trump used the prerogative of the Executive authority to deny Congress access to the full version of the Mueller report

Wednesday, may 8, the Department of justice announced that the President trump has resorted to Executive privilege to deny access to the unedited version of the report, Mueller and related evidence.

Assistant Prosecutor Steven Boyd was notified of the Legal Committee of the house of representatives about this decision shortly before a vote, designed to solve were William Barr contempt of Congress, refusing to provide a full report on the intervention in the 2016 election.

“We are disappointed with the refusal to defer at the request of the Department of justice morning the vote relating to the attorney General. <…> — told Boyd in a letter to President Jerrold the Nadler — we Put you on notice that the President used Executive privilege in relation to all required [in connection with the report of Muller’s] content”.

In its statement, the White house added that trump «had no choice» but to deny granting Congress the unedited report.

“In light of the abuse of power by the Chairman Nadler and the request of the General Prosecutor, the President was left with no option but to resort to protective measures and to take advantage of the privilege of Executive power», — said the press-Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
