The Minister of Finance Steven Mnuchin said that 20-dollar bill instead of the 7th President Andrew Jackson will not be an image of abolizionisti Harriet Tubman, who spoke out against slavery and for social reform.
The new design was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the 19th amendment, which gave women the right to vote. According to Mnuchin, this process was postponed, and no new image will not be presented until 2028.
«This decision is unlikely to be adopted before the expiration of my term, even if I work during the President’s second term, said Mnuchin to the Committee on financial services of the house of representatives. — So at the moment I’m not focused on that.»
