A Jewish organization called Ocasio-Cortez is not to compare the detention centres for illegal immigrants to concentration camps

The Council for relations with the Jewish community (Jewish Community Relations Council JCRC) called for the Congresswoman from new York Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez «to refrain» from the comparison of detention centers for migrants in the United States with concentration camps during the Holocaust.

This comparison Ocasio-Cortez did live in his Instagram.

«We are deeply concerned about the rhetoric that was used in your recent video to Instagram where you equated the detention centres of illegal migrants on the southern border of America to the concentration camps of the Nazi era,» — said in a letter to JCRC in the name Ocasio-Cortez.

«With regard to the concerns about the conditions faced by migrants seeking asylum in the United States, including separation from families, lack of food, water and medical resources, the use of Holocaust terminology to describe contemporary issues downplays the intentions of the Nazis to destroy the Jewish people,» said the organization.

29-year-old Congresswoman from new York also said that the situation in southern border is not just a crisis «for immigrant communities, contained in concentration camps. This is a crisis for us, Americans.»

«The question is whether we continue to be committed to American values or lose the authoritarian and fascist presidency. I don’t use these words just so, «loud.» I use them, because this is what the presidential administration, which creates concentration camps. The presidency, which creates a concentration camp, is a Nazi,» said Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

In addition to the Jewish Community Relations Council, comments Congresswoman also condemned the acting Director of ICE mark Morgan, calling the comparison «completely inappropriate».
