Speaking in front of people, the mayor recalled the economic development of the city, which he managed to achieve during his reign. Listing his achievements, he mentioned tax cuts for companies, support for raising the minimum wage and the flourishing entertainment industry.

He did not forget about the problems that still need to be solved — the lack of affordable housing and homelessness. Garcetti has promised to proceed immediately to the solution of urgent problems.

«We want every resident of Los Angeles was the house in which he could feel safe…the City needs to reform old laws and making new to help you build much needed homes. We are ready to begin this task today», — he said during his inaugural speech.

During his speech, the mayor tried to stop his cries of activists from the organization Black Lives Matter, but they had to leave spring street for the police.

Recall that Eric Garcetti has won the city elections on 7 March, he sidestepped 10 opponents. At the same time the position of city attorney again went to Mike Foyer, and on duty in the city — Ron Halperin.
