The British leader has tested positive for the new coronavirus from two weeks ago and originally had only a «slight» symptoms. On Sunday, he was hospitalized and the next day taken to the intensive care unit.

Johnson received oxygen without being connected to a ventilator.

Now his condition has improved. Earlier Thursday, foreign Minister Dominic Raab, who served as Prime Minister during the key meetings, said that Johnson «is on the mend».

President of the United States Donald trump tweeted:

«Good news: Prime Minister Boris Johnson has just been discharged from intensive care. Get Well Soon, Boris!!!»

When Johnson left the intensive care unit, the government stated to the British that it was too early to ease restrictions on public activity, which was introduced on March 23.

It was initially envisaged that 3 weeks of quarantine. This period ends on Monday. But after a meeting of the crisis Committee (COBRA) Raab said that will not be taken no decision on cancellation of the governmental order of the temporary quarantine and the closing of the business «until then, until it is clear that we have gone beyond peak» of the flash.

Raab said:

«The result of those sacrifices we all went noticeable, but the mortality is still growing and we have not yet reached the peak of the virus.

We should not give the fashion industry a second chance to kill more people and harm our country.»

According to Worldometer, in hospitals in the UK from complications of coronavirus died almost 8,000 people.

While most Britons respect the isolation, violations of the quarantine is still there. Police in the northwestern English city of Manchester said that over the past two weeks in the city was halted 660 parties, including DJs and fireworks.

In some cases the police were accused of excessive zeal. Nick Adderley, chief constable of Northamptonshire in Central England, said on Thursday that his officers may have to place road blocks and begin the»check in items (shopping) baskets and carts to figure out whether the purchase of the necessary object.»

Group on the protection of civil liberties, Big Brother Watch has called the comments «outrageous» and Adderly later explained that his staff will not check purchases of people.

The government of Johnson responded to the threat of a pandemic is slower than governments in other European countries. Before the pandemic in the UK had one of the lowest number of hospital beds per capita in Western Europe: in total there were approximately 5000 intensive care beds.

Over the past few weeks this number has increased significantly as the conversion of hospitals to treat patients with COVID-19, and through the construction of transitional institutions, including hospitals for 4,000 beds in London Convention centre Excel.
