In 2018 American diplomats sent «a worrying signal» about the laboratory of coronaviruses in Wuhan

Laboratory, which studies the coronaviruses of bats in Wuhan (China), was under the scrutiny of American officials for two years before the pandemic.

It is reported by the Washington Post, citing unnamed U.S. official.

In 2018, the diplomats sent to Washington (D. C.) two messages that sounded «the alarm» about the Wuhan Institute of Virology, and diplomats had requested assistance to help the lab to tighten up their security protocols.

«It was a warning shot, the official said the newspaper. They were asked to pay attention to what is happening».

One of the messages said that the work of the laboratory over the coronaviruses of bats and their potential transmission to man is the risk of new pandemics such as SARS.

A senior official of the administration , trump said that reports support the theory that the pandemic was caused by an accident in the laboratory in Wuhan.

According to The New York Times, the intelligence community has not provided any evidence that the virus originated in the laboratory. The Chinese government claims that it appeared on the market, where they sold animals.

The U.S. government has not provided any additional assistance to laboratories in response to message diplomats.

Shi Jinli, head of the research project in WIV, and other scientists in the laboratory denied that the virus originated there.

Xiao Qiang, a researcher at the School of information at the University of California at Berkeley, said The Post that the Chinese government needs to be transparent and to answer questions about the lab in Wuhan.

«I don’t think it’s a conspiracy theory. I think it’s a legitimate question that needs to be examined and to answer it, he said. — Accurate understanding of how this originated, is a critical knowledge to prevent this in the future.»
