Dutch security expert says he logged into Trump's Twitter after guessing password

According to the Dutch security researcher, last week he accessed President Trump's Twitter account @realDonaldTrump, guessing his password: «maga2020».

Victor Gevers, a security expert at the GDI Foundation and chairman of the Netherlands Vulnerability Disclosure Institute, which finds and reports security breaches, told TechCrunch that he was able to guess the password on the fifth try.

The account was not protected by two-factor authentication, which allowed Gevers to log into his profile.

He then allegedly sent an email to US-CERT, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), to report the incident. Gevers added that the president's password was changed shortly thereafter.

This is the second time Gevers was allegedly able to access Trump's account. For the first time he went to the profile in 2016: then Trump's password was the phrase «yourefired» («You are fired»).

Twitter spokesman Ian Plunkett denies Gevers' words, arguing that there is «no evidence» to support the incident, and all public accounts associated with the 2020 elections are carefully protected.
