Biden beat Trump in Pennsylvania. Why is it important?

According to CNN, ex-vice Joe Biden has overtaken his opponent, incumbent President Donald Trump, in Pennsylvania, one of the key states for the victory.

According to Profile magazine, 49.4% of voters voted for Biden, while 49.3% supported Trump. In total, 95% of the ballots have been processed so far.

Donald Trump has commented several times on the counting process in vacillating states — including Pennsylvania — accusing his opponent of «fraud» and demanding that the processing of ballots be stopped. On Friday, a spokesman for his campaign also said that the race was «far from over» and the president is ready to challenge the election results if he loses.

To win the presidency, a candidate needs 270 electoral college votes. Biden currently has 264, while Trump has only 214.

The candidate who wins in Pennsylvania will receive 20 votes. For Biden, this will mean an election victory.
