Joe Biden's victory in the 2020 elections was celebrated not only by Americans. On Saturday, news celebrated cities across Europe with both formal greetings and massive fireworks.
On the occasion of the end of the presidential race, in which the ex-vice managed to get 273 electoral college votes, church bells rang in Paris and Munich, and fireworks rang out in London and Edinburgh.

World leaders, including British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, French President Emmanuel Macron, Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte, Irish Prime Minister Michelle Martin and Spanish President Pedro Sánchez Perez-Castejón, also congratulated President-elect and Vice President Kamala Harris on social media …
In Slovenia, home of First Lady Melania Trump, the election results were met with disbelief. Prime Minister Janez Jansa was the only world leader to congratulate Trump even before the votes were counted and continued to lend his support after Biden's victory was announced.

The news also sparked controversy in Iraq, in particular over Biden's support for the 2003 invasion of the country. However, Iraqi President Barham Salih expressed his support for the ex-vice on Twitter, calling him a friend and reliable partner.
