Russia threatens to escort American diplomats

Russia has promised to send American diplomats, if the United States refuses to reopen two residences of Russian diplomats — one in long island and another in Maryland.

The New York Post reports that the residence was closed by the Obama administration last December as a part of retaliatory actions after the alleged Russian interference in the presidential election of 2016. President Obama then stated that the building «used by Russian personnel for intelligence purposes.» Then the country had been sent to 35 diplomats, which was accused of espionage. They were all declared persona non grata, after which they were forced to leave the country within 72 hours.

Press Secretary of the foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova said on Friday that Moscow «will have to take reciprocal measures» if the agreement in question resume of the residences of the Russian diplomats in the U.S. will not be achieved.

President trump discussed this question with Russian leader Vladimir Putin last week, but have not yet come to a decision that would suit both sides.
