Nicole Malliotakis — member of the Republican party representing parts of Brooklyn and Staten island, has opposed de Blasio announced his participation in the presidential race for mayor. She was not satisfied with the current practice measure to protect criminals at the expense of the taxpayer in new York. In the event of his victory, Malliotakis promised to focus on cost containment, enforcement of laws on quality of life and improving city infrastructure.

The President of the Brooklyn public Council entered the race as a Democrat. Richard Bachner held office for the last four years and served on the Executive Committee for another 15 years. Commercial lawyer now hopes to take the place of current mayor, with whom they are party members.
