Pope Francis has urged trump to take on the role of peacemaker

During today’s official meeting at the Vatican , Pope Francis called on Donald trump to take on the role of peacemaker, and the President promised that he will not forget the request of the Pontiff.

The meeting between the Pontiff and U.S. President lasted about half an hour. First, parties exchanged gifts. The Pope gave the Tramp a small sculpture in the form of olive branches, symbolizing peace, and a signed copy of his peace messages in 2017 under the name of «nonviolence is a style of politics in the name of peace», and a copy of his open letter from, 2015, about the need to protect the environment from the impacts of climate change. Trump, in turn, gave Francis the five books of Martin Luther king.

Media noted that at the beginning of the meeting with the President of the United States is usually talkative father was very reticent and gave trump a polite smile. Trump welcomed the Pontiff with the words: «It is an honour for me to be here.» Even during the preparatory part of the meeting, during which between the parties is usually tied into various conversations, Francis tried to avoid them and almost all the time under a sight of cameras and lenses sat in silence.

However, by the end of the meeting, the situation seems to be dead and the Pope is no longer hiding a smile, joked with the President’s wife.

«I want you to become an olive tree and built the world,» said the Pope Trump.

At the end of the meeting, both sides called it extremely positive. In a statement, the Vatican said that the meeting was «cordial» and that the Vatican hopes that between the U.S. government and the American Catholic Church can «develop peaceful cooperation,» including in the context of «immigration assistance».
