In Chicago’s Hyde Park will be a new office tower

Recently the University of Chicago and is based in Baltimore the company Wexford Science and Development announced plans for the construction of office and laboratory space with an area of 280 000 square feet on the corner of 53rd Street and S. Lake Park Avenue. It will be the next stage of a larger project for the development of the Hyde Park Harper Court, in which were already constructed 12-storey office building, hotel Hyatt Place 130 rooms, some retail space and approximately 500 Parking spaces.

It is assumed that the office building will house laboratories and companies from nearby office incubator Polsky Center. Current on-site structure, located along Lake Park — a 4-storey Parking, will require vertical expansion up to 16 storeys. The plans are significantly different from the original, because in 2010, the Harper Court project involved the construction of this 44-storey condominium. Why the change of plans is not known.

To date, negotiations on the organization of several meetings, after which we can talk about the breakdown of 261 square-foot office building between tenants. The construction is scheduled to begin in spring 2018.
