Lottery for affordable housing in Mott Haven: renting from $ 822

At the beginning of last year, the company Monadnock Construction announced plans to add to the rental market around 250 new affordable apartments, in collaboration with Urban Properties LLC. The apartment was supposed to place in one of the hotels in Mott Haven (the Bronx), and now some of them ready and involved in the lottery for affordable housing.

13-storey building located at 530 Exterior Street. It includes 124 apartments: 19 studios, 53 one-bedroom, 43 two-bedroom and 9 two-bedroom.

Prices range from $ 822 per month for a Studio and up to $ 1224 per month for an apartment with three bedrooms.

Here is a list of available apartments and conditions for their rental:

  • 19 studios for one tenant with an income of $ 30069 up to $ 40080 per year. The price is $ 822 per month.
  • 53 one-bedroom apartment for a single person with an income of $ 32195 to $ 40080 or two people with a combined income of $ 32195 to $ 45840. The price is $ 822 per month.
  • 43 apartments with two bedrooms for family of 2-4 persons with a total income of $ 38503 up to $ 57240. Price is $ 1065 per month.
  • 9 apartments with three bedrooms for a family of 3-6 people with an income of $ 44538 to $ 66420. Price of$ 1,224 per month.

Residents of the new apartments will have access to many facilities including a fitness centre, a recreation room, a Laundry room, storage space for bikes and a recreation area outdoors. As for apartments, they will feature a variety of stainless steel appliances, siding, plank flooring and granite kitchen countertops.

The second part of the project is 12-story building, which includes 136 affordable apartments, will be located at: 491 Gerard Avenue. Later it is planned to put into operation one more residential complex at 110 East 49th Street (152 apartments). All three buildings were designed by Dattner Architects.
