Affordable housing in new York city: apartments for $780 per month

Ten apartments in a newly built building on Atlantic Avenue participate in the lottery for affordable housing, allowing citizens with low income to rent a great apartment for $ 780 a month.

According to the system Housing Connect, the lottery opened on Wednesday. Only 10 affordable apartments available in the building at 1007 Atlantic Ave, which is currently under construction.

To apply for participation in the lottery, the income of participants should be 60 percent of the median income for the area, or be within between $26,743 and $57,240 , depending on apartment size and family.

Two inexpensive Studio will be available for rent for $780 per month. Three one bedroom apartments will cost $806 a month, and five apartments with two bedrooms — $973 per month.

When selecting tenants for half of the apartments, preference will be given to residents who currently reside in the Brooklyn Community Board 2.

The building is being constructed on Atlantic Avenue in 2015. On the ground floor will have shops, and on the upper floors – 50 residential apartments.
