Study: Battery Park City has the highest rental prices in the country

When it comes to the most exorbitant prices to rent all over the country, people are likely talking about Manhattan. At least, this is evidenced by the results of a study conducted by search engine RENTCafe.

Manhattan glimpsed in the list of most expensive zip codes from coast to coast often, and eight of the 10 places with the most expensive rent, including first, second and third places are there. Two other zip in the top 10 belong to San Francisco.

The palm goes to the quarter of Battery Park City with the zip code 10282. The average rent there is $5,924 per month. On the second place postcode 10065 in Upper East Side (from East 60th to 69th streets) with a rental fee of $4,898 per month. And closes the three leaders part of the Upper West Side zip code 10023 (West 60th to 76th streets) with an average monthly rent of $4,892.

The growth in rental prices in Battery Park City illustrates the growth of Lower Manhattan. For 15 years, a quarter receives a huge amount of public and private investments that are used for infrastructure development, construction of office and residential buildings. In addition, there is an active cultural area, and already has several new public and private schools.

Prosperous district of Lower Manhattan is a great choice if you work in the financial sector or related to wall street and enjoy the waterfront, green spaces and quiet streets in the city centre. However, to call this part of downtown Manhattan, as many district seems too urbanized (and too expensive).

Many developers are trying to attract in Battery Park City families, offering apartments with three and four bedrooms. However, large spaces can not be cheap, which leads to an increase in rental prices.
