Fleeing from police, the young man jumped into the ocean with a shark

Wednesday, August 30, a police operation to arrest 20-year-old Zachary Kingsbury turned into rescue when a young man tried to get away from law enforcement officers by swimming.

That evening, around 16:45, car, inside of which was the Kingsbury, was stopped for speeding by officers of the police Department Surf city, North Carolina.

They found that in the passenger seat transported contraband, and asked Zachary, who was driving, to exit the vehicle.

As soon as his feet touched the ground, the young man began to run away. He soon jumped into the ocean and managed to swim a distance over 1.2 km, before 18 metres from him seemed a five-foot shark. All this time the fugitive had been under surveillance from the drone.

Noticing the shark, the police brought reinforcements, came to the rescue and employees of the coast guard and fire service.

However, Zachary was able to independently and safely swim to the beach of North Topsail, where he was taken into custody. In addition, police arrested and the passengerwho were with Zachary in one car. They were taken to a prison in the County of Pender.

Kingsbury was charged with possession of methamphetamine, marijuana, equipment for the use of drugs, and resisting arrest. Previously, he acted as a suspect in the case of a home invasion in Washington.
