During the holidays, patrol new York will be watching for drunk drivers

Governor Cuomo warns motorists that this weekend the «very noticeable» increase of police on the roads of new York. This is due to the upcoming labor Day and campaign in the state to combat drunk driving, according to NYDailyNews.

The state police in conjunction with local police will join the national campaign «Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over», to promote driving sober. They plan to increase the number of patrol checking drivers for sobriety.

«I urge residents of new York and city guests to enjoy all the activities that our beautiful state has organized this weekend in honor of Labor Day. We urge you to behave responsibly and observe safety rules, asked Cuomo to the citizens. — This weekend everywhere police will be on duty, and if you decide to get behind the wheel drunk, you are held».

In addition to drunk drivers, the patrol will also monitor the drivers who are distracted from the road, not wearing seat passengers, and those who are not inferior to road transport emergency services.

Last year during similar events the state police conducted 220 arrests and issued over 11,000 fines.
