Bars in California are allowed to sell alcohol until 4 am

The bill, which could allow local bars to sell alcohol until 4 am, passed the first reading in the Legislature of the state of California and is on its way to a vote before the full Senate of the state. First, these bills never got that far, which means that the proposal can become a law.

Senator Scott Wiener of San Francisco in favour of the bill, known as the Let Our Communities Adjust Late Night Act (LOCALNA). By himself, he will not suspect any changes, however, it will allow the authorities of individual cities to cancel the mandatory restrictions on the sale of alcohol if they want to do it.

If the bill LOCALNA becomes law, cities such as Los Angeles or San Francisco will be able to allow bars to stay open until 4 a.m. any night during the week. Other cities will be able to choose the abolition of restrictions only on weekends or holidays. If approved, the law will operate for any individual bar, setting for the pubs new opening hours.

If the Senate will support the bill, he will need to obtain the approval of the Legislative Assembly. Only after that the document will be on the Desk of the Governor. After the Governor will sign it, the authorities of the individual cities will be able to begin the process of deciding whether they want to allow bars to work late. Thus, in the near future nightlife lovers will not be able to have fun in the club till dawn (legally, at least).
