«To live in our world, speak more than one language and understand different cultures is a gift,» — says Berger Flanders, one of the founders LinguaLab. «Language learning is a long process, and the sooner you start the easier it will be.»

Berger, a certified French teacher, will be teaching many lessons in LinguaLab.

She founded together with LinguaLab Nadroj Isamiddinova, another local mother and translator. In addition, the team includes six other instructors, including two professional dancer who will teach the lessons of «creative movement» in Spanish and Russian.

In the fall semester will feature more than 20 basic and advanced courses, each of which will visit from 8 to 12 children. Groups will be divided by age and level of proficiency.

Among the possible options — the 80 minute course «French Learners» for children from 3 to 5 years, which lasts 12 weeks, cost $ 360; courses on Russian language «baby and me» for $ 25 each 45-minute lesson; hour extracurricular lessons in Spanish, worth 432 dollars for a 12-week course.

The Barger and Isamiddinova hope that their lessons will fill a vacant niche in language education in the Western part of Queens, because public schools in the district offer training in Spanish only.

The women soon want to expand your program LinguaLab, opening bilingual courses for adults that the school has become a kind of «community center».

«Our idea is to offer different languages to residents of long island and Astoria,» explains Berger.
