Many issues regarding infrastructure, US citizens do not have consensus. But there is in America and one common problem – a terrible road. The Americans are ready to join forces.

The results of a new survey conducted by the engineering company HNTB Corp. and published by Reuters, show that almost three-quarters of Americans really want to improve the roads and are willing to pay for it themselves. But that number of Americans is increasing and is up to 84% if duties and taxes paid at the Federal level, will be spent on local infrastructure.

Eight out of ten Americans also support increasing tolls on highways.

«People are willing to pay higher taxes and fees if they know that the money will go to improving roads,» said Kevin Hoeflich, Chairman of toll services at HNTB. «Now they see that the funding being transferred to other areas, but not where they expected.»

Good roads, according to Haflich, is not only the absence of holes and the expansion of the highways and reducing traffic jams, and, therefore, the decision is still a very pressing issue.
