MTA will close two metro stations of new York in Queens on the line N/W to Astoria for up to eight months from 23 Oct.

As told to DNA-info press-Secretary of the MTA, since the end of October will be closed station 30th Avenue and 36th Avenue.

And in the summer of 2018, about the same time it is planned to close the station N/W Broadway and 39th Avenue.

According to the representative of the MTA, the modernization will include the overhaul of infrastructure stations (including paths), repair or even construction of new entrances to the station, improving the design of platforms. In addition, stations equipped with USB ports, digital screens and a clockcounting down the time until the next train.

The overhaul will be held in the framework of the plan of the Governor of the state of new York Andrew Cuomo on the redesign of dozens of subway stations.

The Governor noted that a full upgrade will make the station «better, cleaner and easier to navigate on the subway.»

In the AIT declares: a complete cessation of the operation of the stations for a few months will allow workers to repair faster. If the stations to be closed only at night or on weekends, repair may take three years.
