People who consider themselves third sex will be able to go to California and not be afraid of bias. The fact is that a bill introducing gender-neutral in public documents considered in the Senate and soon it will go for signature to Governor Jerry brown.
The initiator of the bill was Senator from San Diego’s Toni Atkins. «Many of us have ID that matches our gender identity, so to show it is not a problem,» commented Atkins. She stressed that for Californians who feel differently, their document may work against them. Atkins noted that the bill will make life easier for transgender, intersex and nibinamik people.
A member of the Assembly and LGBT rights activist Todd Gloria thanked his colleague for this important, in his opinion, the step and said: «SB 179 (title of bill) gives a clear message: no matter who you are and how you identify yourself, we accept you here.»
Recall, this is not the first such bill. From 1 July 2017 in the state of Oregon for the first time in the history of USA started issuing gender-neutral driver’s license.
