«He was blind and deaf,» the parents of Otto Warmbier

Parents Otto Warmbier, an American student who returned from North Korea and fell into a coma and then died, first told about what happened to their son.

Fred and Cindy Warmbier gave an interview with Fox and Friends where he said that he knew their son was ill, but they hoped that physicians of the United States would save him.

We will remind, Otto Warmbier in 2016, was arrested in North Korea for the attempted theft of a propaganda poster from the hotel room. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison and hard labor. 15 months after confinement of a student was released from prison. He was returned to US with extensive brain damage.

«When we got on the plane flying home, we heard this unearthly sound,» recalls Cindy Warmbier. «Otto was a shaved head, he just stared up at the ceiling and howled. He was blind. He didn’t hear anything. When I approached him to calm, he saw that his bottom teeth…the feeling that they were pulled out with pliers.»

22-year-old man after arriving in his native Cincinnati died after a few days.

Representatives of North Korea told U.S. authorities that Otto fell ill with botulism, and lapsed into a coma after taking sleeping pills.

Doctors in the US still do not identify the exact cause of death of the student. It is known that he died from cardiac arrest, but American doctors are sure of one thing: there is no evidence of botulism.

Warmbier say that they hoped to remain in the shadows and not draw attention to himself, trying to recover, but later changed their minds because of the policies of North Korea.

«Now we see as Pyongyang claims he is the victim, and the whole world is against them, but it’s not,» says Fred Warmbier. «We are here to say, North Korea and terrorists. They kidnapped Otto, they tortured him, they killed him.»
