At the hospital, Lincoln Hospital in the Bronx sued the family of Angela Rivera, which is almost 10 hours with a head injury sat in the waiting room and fell into a coma before he was noticed.
As told to NBC News, relatives of the deceased 53-year-old Rivera, the incident occurred in 2014. Two years a man spent in a coma and died, never coming out of it. Now the family intends to sue the hospital.
Angel Rivera went to the hospital with a head injury – he got into a fight with a friend. Surveillance cameras recorded that the River was told to expect, and eventually, the man was in the emergency room for almost 10 hours.
When the medics finally called his name, Rivera was already unconscious.
«After my father died, the doctor said that if he had noticed sooner, he would still be alive,» says the son of the deceased, angel Rivera Jr. «You want to help, and you don’t have to be «lost» in the system for 10 hours! I’m angry, but keep your composure because you have to be strong for my family.»
«They lost him, even though he was on their mind,» adds the family’s lawyer mark Brodner.
In Lincoln Hospital said that they cannot comment on the situation because of the judicial process and the law on the privacy of patients but they expressed sympathy to the family of the deceased.
Son Angela says that the hospital «took a life» and needed to change the system waiting in the emergency room.
