On Monday, the MTA announced that it will establish a new tracking system work underground. With this innovation, the subway passengers in new York will be able to view the schedule flight, to learn how much delayed train and, in General, to obtain information about failures in the metro.
Old tracking system focused «on the train than on people», says the head of the MTA Peter Cafiero. Previously, they just tracked how often trains are entering the station on schedule, not distinguishing they were late for one minute or 45 minutes.
New dashboard is primarily designed for passengers. It will provide more complete information about the trips: the schedule of train arrivals to the state of cleanliness of the station.
On Wednesday on the website of the MTA launch of on-line tracking, it also can be downloaded as an app for your smartphone that was developed on the initiative of Joe Lhota, the website Gothamist.
Information will include a tab «major incidents», which will display information about incidents on the lines, including the problems with the trains, the signal system and delayed trains due to unauthorized persons on the tracks. Also will have the option to «station environment», where passengers can leave their feedback about the cleanliness of carriages and stations.
