The bloodiest mass shootings in the United States

Shooting at a music festival in Las Vegas was the deadliest in contemporary American history. According to the latest data, has killed more than 50 people, more than 400 were hospitalized with injuries.

Here is a list of some of the other mass shootings that have become deadly themselves.

49 killed — Orlando, Florida (June 12, 2016). 49 people were killed and 53 were wounded during a shooting at the nightclub Pulse. Shooter – Omar Matin was shot and arrived on the scene by the police.

32 killed — Blacksburg, Virginia (April 16, 2007). Thirty-two people were killed and 17 wounded in a shooting on the campus of Virginia Tech. Shooter — 23-year-old Cho Seung-Hui after the incident committed suicide

27 killed – Killeen, Texas (16 October 1991). George Hennard drove his pickup truck through the front window of the restaurant «Luby» and shot 23 people, ranging in age from 29 to 75 years, and wounded 27 people. Being wounded by police officers arriving at the scene, Hennard shot.

26 dead – Newtown, Connecticut (14 December 2012). In elementary school Sandy Hook killed 26 people, including 20 children 6-7 years. Many of the teachers died protecting their students. The shooter — 20-year-old Adam Lanza – before he killed his mother, and after the mass shooting committed suicide.

21 killed in San Ysidro all the way, California (July 18, 1984). Twenty-one people were killed when the shooter opened fire at McDonalds. 19 people were injured. Shooter James Huberty killed by police.

14 killed — San Bernardino, California (December 2, 2015). Fourteen people were killed and 22 wounded in the center for the disabled. The attackers were 28-year-old Saeed Farooq and 27-year-old Tashfin Malik, who later shot and killed by police.

14 of those killed — Edmond, Oklahoma (August 20, 1986) is a postal worker Patrick Fixed killed 14 colleagues and wounded six people before killing myself.

14 dead — Austin, Texas (August 1, 1966). Thirteen people were killed and over 30 injured when student Charles Whitman opened fire from the 28th floor of the tower on the campus of the University of Texas. Shooter killed by the police.

13 killed at Fort hood, Texas (November 9, 2009). Thirteen people were killed and more than 30 others wounded by major Nydahl Hasan, an army psychiatrist. Hasan was sentenced to death.

13 killed Binghamton, state of new York (3 April 2009). Thirteen people were killed and four were injured at the immigration center. The shooter is 42-year-old Vietnamese immigrant Jiverly Wong killed himself.

13 killed – Littleton, Colorado (20 April 1999). Twelve students and one teacher were killed and 20 wounded at Columbine high school. Arrows — Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold committed suicide.

12 dead Aurora, Colorado (July 20, 2012). Twelve people were killed and 70 injured in a movie theater during a midnight screening of the Batman movie. The shooter is 24-year-old James Holmes – was sentenced to life imprisonment without right to parole.

12 killedWashington, D. C., (16 September 2013). The tragedy occurred at the headquarters of the command of shipbuilding and armaments. Shooter from Texas, Aaron Alexis, was killed by police during a shootout.

9 killed – Charleston, South Carolina, (June 18, 2015) – Nine people (all African Americans) died in the Methodist Episcopal Church of Emmanuel. The shooter is 21-year-old Dylan Ruth — was white supremacists. 10 January 2017, the jury unanimously sentenced him to death. The verdict is not yet enforced.
