On the Brooklyn bridge were hundreds of demonstrators dressed in orange – mothers with placards «save our families», stars and just the new Yorkers whose loved ones died because of weapons, reports the Daily News.

The annual rally against violence staged American women from the organization Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense.

«This year marks five years since the day when my brother got shot on the streets of Brooklyn,» says 10-year-old Christopher underwood. «His killer is still not found».

Michelle Davis, who lost two cousins, carried a poster with dozens of pictures of dead. According to her, every year of violence with guns in America is becoming more.

The action was joined by actress Julianne Moore, to Express sympathy to those who lost their loved ones.

«These are people who have lost family members, and yet they have the courage to speak. Imagine yourself in their place. Just imagine. My participation is the least I can do to change the situation,» said Julianne Moore.

We will remind, on June 2 , the United States celebrated the Day of prevention of violence with a firearm. This day urged to wear orange — orange symbolizes the value of human life. The purpose of this campaign is to draw attention to the problem of violence with firearms in America.
