Historic Church in California has opened after a devastating fire

Yesterday, Sunday, June 5, the historic Church in Berkeley, California, reopened after a fire almost destroyed the building in September 2016, reports ABC7.

The Church was built in the 1920-ies and became the first Congregational Church of Berkeley.

At the opening of the Church was decorated with red balloons and the floor is strewn with red petals, as a reminder of the conflagration the consequences of which are still being felt today.

«Joy and pain, all the feelings are mixed. Some buildings still not repaired, but we’re happy to be here,» said the Reverend Molly basket.

The opening was a chorus girl Martha Anderson, who is almost her age – next month she turns 100 years old.

The damage from the firethat raged in the Church last fall, was estimated at $ 9 million. And the official cause of the fire is still not named.
