Ryan Nash – the policeman hero of the tragedy in Manhattan

Officer of the police Department of new York, Ryan Nash was among the first who responded to the call during a terrorist attack in Manhattan. He was wounded , Saifullo Saipov, probably avoiding an even greater number of victims.

According to the New York Daily News, 28-year-old Ryan Nash was on a call at the school in Lower Manhattan. There was a 17-year-old girl who threatened to commit suicide. When the situation was settled, the officer heard over the radio the information that a nearby vehicle drove into the crowd.

Nash rushed to the scene, where he saw Saipov was brandishing a weapon. The order to surrender, the terrorist is not obeyed, then the officer opened fire, wounding the suspect in the stomach.

Ryan Nash, a native of long island, began to serve in the police force since 2012.

«Hats off to the police, who first responded to the call. God bless the NYPD,» tweeted city Councilman Joe Borelli.

According to the Commissioner of the police Department of new York James O’neill, the quick actions of officer Nash saved people’s lives, as victims of attacks could be even more.

«I thank police for the work that you do,» — said at a briefing the Governor of new York Andrew Cuomo. «Every day you risk yourself for our residents.»
