Within four months, Renhao Zhang almost every day comes into the apartment of his missing daughter, 26-year-old Jinjin Zhang. He still hopes that one day I will see her there, despite the fact that the police say the girl was killed.
Recall Jinjin Zhang went missing on June 9, a few weeks after she came to the University of Illinoisto conduct research and obtain a degree in agriculture. A surveillance camera recorded, as the girl sits in the front seat of the black «Saturn Astra» around campus. Was then arrested 28-year-old former graduate student at Brandt Christensen. Authorities say he lured a student into his car as she was late for an important meeting, and then kept in his apartment and killed him.
Here only the girl’s body in 4 months was never found. Now the family returns to China, leaving the daughter home to be buried in accordance with Chinese customs.
The mother of the student, Lifeng, ruined his health during this time, writes the Associated Press. She hardly ever sleeps at night. «I ask the mother of the suspect, please talk to your son and ask him what he did to my daughter. Where is she now? I want to know the answer,» says Lifeng.
Authorities have not said how he died Jinjin, but at Brandt Christensen charged with kidnapping and murder «especially cruel and depraved manner.»
Studying in America was a dream Zhang, tells her boyfriend, the girl chose Illinois because one of the strongest programs of agriculture. The girl wanted to obtain a degree and return to China to help his family.
According to the parents living in one of the poorest areas in mountainous China, Jinjin saved the money to buy them a mobile, air conditioning and microwave. Every Saturday she called home.
The police gave the family the scanned pages of the diary Gingin. The last entry, from June 1, says: «Life is too short to make it normal».
Guy Jinjin says it will be really hard to go thousands of miles away and to wait again. «We don’t know how long it will last. We just feel that we have lost hope.»
